GodEyeView
GodEyeView works without an account. Saved places, scenes, watchlists, display preferences and local posts, likes and bookmarks are stored in this browser. External services receive the requests needed to deliver maps, searches and public data.
The application uses localStorage for saved workspace records and preferences. A temporary selected map record may use sessionStorage when moving from a tool to the map. These records are not synchronized to an account. Clearing this site’s browser storage removes them; private-browsing sessions may remove them automatically.
PNG export and map recording are prepared locally from the map canvases. Recording does not request a microphone, record audio or capture other browser tabs. The preview remains temporary until you download the file; it is not uploaded by this feature. Source credits and the requested imagery dates are included in the exported map. Scenes save viewing settings rather than a frozen copy of the public data.
The app asks for browser location only when you choose Use my location or the map location control. You can decline and search for a town instead. Remote place searches send the entered search text to Open-Meteo. Selecting a place or using your location for a weather card sends its latitude and longitude to Open-Meteo. Coordinates sent for weather are rounded to two decimal places. Map positions and shared-view URLs can use greater precision. The nearby-aircraft tool and map send the requested center, rounded to 0.5°, through this site’s gateway to adsb.lol. Identifier lookup sends the selected aircraft identifier to the same provider.
Your browser requests public data, map tiles, terrain, imagery and fonts from the relevant providers. Depending on your actions these include Open-Meteo, USGS, NASA, Where the ISS at?, RainViewer, OpenFreeMap, Esri, CARTO, public terrain-tile hosting and Google Fonts. Aircraft requests pass through the site’s fixed-source gateway. Providers can receive ordinary request information such as IP address, browser information and the requested area or URL under their own policies.
Vercel hosts this site and its aircraft gateway. Hosting services may process ordinary request and security logs, including IP address and URL. A shared map URL includes camera coordinates, enabled layers and display settings; an imagery comparison also includes the requested dates and divider position. Anyone receiving that URL can read these parameters. A local place or observation is not automatically published by saving it.
This launch does not add a site analytics or advertising tracker. That does not prevent operational logging or requests to external content providers. To remove local records, delete individual places or observations in the interface, or clear site data for godeyeview.app in your browser. You can revoke location permission through browser settings. Clearing local data cannot remove requests already processed by a provider.
